Star Island, as the name implies, has been home to Stars living in Miami Beach for some time now and has been some of the most expensive Miami Beach real estate in Dade County. Star Island is an all waterfront gated community on Biscayne Bay in Miami Beach with 28 homes and a 10 acre park in the center of the island. The stars started coming in 1986 when Gloria and Emilio Estefan bought their first property and built their home. In 1991, I sold them the adjacent property and they built their compound.
Since then, many other Stars such as Shaquille O’Neil, Rony Seikaly, Rosie O’Donnell, P. Diddy, and Tommy Mattola have made Star Island home. Some have moved on, some have stayed. One of the reasons they like the island is because of the deep lots (standard lots, 100X400) that afford them the privacy they desire. It has a great location that is close to South Beach, Lincoln Road Mall, Downtown Miami and has the boating access on Biscayne Bay and Atlantic ocean. The largest sale on Star Island was sold in 2006 for $27,000,000. which was a 9,000 sq ft home on 3 lots. Currently, there are three properties for sale on the island.
