Raised in South Florida to working class parents and making a living drilling wells for water, Ken Pruitt seems like an unlikely guy to be leading the Florida Senate.

Today, speaking to the Florida Association of Realtors in Orlando, Senator Pruitt gave lots of credit to Florida Governor Crist, House Speaker Marco Rubio and Florida Realtors for the legislation that has come out of Tallahassee. The good news is that $15.6 Billion has already been cut from the states future budget and another $16 Billion will be saved “when” the new constitutional amendment passes on Jan. 30th.

The Senator put a lot of emphasis on increased spending for the construction of new infrastructure in Florida including roads, schools and public building in an effort prepare for the State’s future and to keep employment high.

House Speaker Rubio could not attend the FAR meetings because he and his wife were having a baby today. Their Fourth!
