Removing Wallpaper in Pinecrest or Palmetto Bay Without Using the Humidity

This article will connect you with the places to go in Pinecrest to take off your wallpaper without slitting your wrists.

  1. You can pay someone. Go to Palmetto Paint on US 1 and SW 140 St. and get someone on their recommended list.
  2. For the “I can do this myself person” (so I will use the money on some exotic Miami Spice restaurant I’ve never been to) there is Home Depot on 136 street and US1 that has thousands of peoplen or there is Palmetto Hardware on 124 Street and US 1.

chomp.jpgI prefer Palmetto Hardware. The store features Pottery Barn Paints that are super cute and inspiring for your next step (which will not be to wallpaper again). No spray is going to work great but the best one is Chomp with a gator on it, which is very hard to buy if you’re a Seminole. I bought this as a last resort and it does make the wallpaper crinkle a little, which is very exciting as your scrapeing away. As soon as I returned home after spending $40 on spray and scrapers, my daughter told me HOT water and a little dishwashing detergent – which worked great and of course cost $0.40 for a bottle.

S,o the next step is spraying the bottom part of the paper because the cute part always comes off easily, leaving the hard stuff behind. This is a tedious job with a great workout for those bicep muscles without going to the 136 St. YMCA.

After many hours with limited success, I have a thought…Let’s have a party. Yes, my daughter wanted to have a movie night, for which I graciously volunteered to buy the pizza, at Miami’s Best in the Gables, no less. As her friends came in, a scraper was put in their hand with a big smile saying the food was coming soon. In just half an hour one wall was done! Needless to say all the children were swearing never to wallpaper their entire lives and my daughter was glaring at me. I did deliver on the pizza and taught them a life lesson.

The next time I walk a customer into a house for sale in Pinecrest or Palmetto Bay that has wallpaper, I am subtracting seller concessions for “wallpaper removal” on the closing statement.851534_border.jpg
