The Miracle Walk in Downtown Coral Gables

Two weekends ago I participated in the Down’s Syndrome Association of Miami’s 7th annual Miracle Walk in Downtown Coral Gables. The walk was 1 mile and started at the Ponce de Leon Circle Park at 9 am. This event is very special and is filled with many families with children that have Down’s Syndrome. The families put together teams of friends that come out to support their child and the organization. I proudly walk on Team Ellie for Ellie Bolduc who is an amazingly energetic, smart and beautiful little girl. The smile she greets you with brightens your day. For many years, the Bolducs have had a great group of friends come out creating a really fun morning to stop and reflect on how far we have come and how amazing these children are!

The Down’s Syndrome Association was started by a couple of parents that wanted to create an organization that would introduce families and allow them to help share experiences, and get more information about Down’s Syndrome in Miami-Dade County.

This walk was named for the street it would take place on, Miracle Mile. It is truly a miraculous morning! I overheard they may be adding a 5k to the walk next year. Woohoo!! For more information, check out this wonderful video about the association.
