Miami Skyline and the 1800 Club

Miami went through a boom of building skyscrapers  in the beginning of this millennium.  It’s history of building skyscrapers started in 1913 with the completion of the McAllister Hotel.  Later, in 1925, came the Freedom Tower, which is probably Miami’s best known earlier example of a skyscraper.

The latest explosion in building up Miami’s skyline was referred to as the Manhattanization of Miami.  At one point, there were 60 projects either approved and/or under construction that were planned to rise over five hundred feet tall.  Miami is expected to have one of the largest skylines in the world by 2010.  In the U.S., it follows only two other cities: NYC and Chicago.

Ranked #44 on the list of tallest buildings, along with the Vue at Brickell and Brickell on the River South Tower, the 1800 Club is a prime example of the Manhattanization wave.  Sitting on Biscayne Bay in the Midtown neighborhood of Miami, it was completed in 2007 and is located conveniently next to transportation to downtown Miami’s business district and two entrances to Miami Beach and South Beach.  The MacArthur Causeway and the Venetian Causeway can wisk residents and the guests to their desired location on Miami Beach.  An easy five minute drive can place you in the lap of restaurants, shops and beaches galore.

1800 Club’s building amenities are impressive.  The huge swimming pool with a spacious lounge deck overlooks Margaret Pace Park and beautiful Biscayne Bay with the Port of Miami in sight.  The massive cruise ships are docked waiting for their eager passengers to board.  The 3000 sq/ft gym has state-of-the-art equipment and is housed in a round room that gives 270 degree views of the bay.  Also available to the residents and their guests is a sauna, steamroom and jacuzzi.  Parking is convenient in the secured garage on premises.  The units themselves range from one bedroom to spacious 3 bedroom units.  The kitchens and bathroom are done to today’s expections with marble, granite, stainless steel appliances and much more.
