The Towers of Key Biscayne
“Honey, I’m throwing the ribs on the grill!” The aroma of my husband’s hand-rubbed, barbeque ribs beckons me from the ocean as I shield my eyes from the bright, Sunday-afternoon sun. He hands me a mojito* and a plate full of ribs, black beans and rice. We talk about our stroll to Cape Florida’s famous lighthouse as we savor that last piece of Key Lime Pie.
I throw a piece of bread to a passing sea gull who is singing the praises of laid-back, island living.

I love our sunny South Florida residence in The Towers of Key Biscayne in Key Biscayne, Florida. Our friends from the “other side” of the Rickenbacker Causeway jump at the chance to visit us — touting that we “live like we’re on some private, tropical island . . . . with just a few friends and family.”
Before I arrive at my condo, I pass the Miami Seaquarium, one of our dearest tourist attractions and home of Lolita the Whale and the famous “Flipper.”
Many times we attend one of the most important tennis tournaments, Sony Ericsson, which is played in Key Biscayne’s backyard at the Crandon Tennis Center.
Houses of worship are plentiful in this area. Some have schools as well:

- St. Christopher’s by the Sea Episcopal Church
- Key Biscayne Presbyterian Church
- Key Biscayne Community Church
- Chabad of Key Biscayne Jewish Center.
The Village of Key Biscayne has its own police and fire departments as well as the following public school:

I love living in Key Biscayne because it is nestled between two parks: Crandon Park and Bill Baggs. Being an island, I get to enjoy the view of the ever-changing Miami skyline at sunset.
