Life After Stainless

“The kitchen has been updated with stainless and granite”, is a sentence uttered countless times when describing properties. For years stainless was ubiquitous, and improved upon, “fingerprint resistant”. Designers and customers are looking beyond granite to quartz, marble, onyx, and matte finishes for counters. Wolf introduced black glass ovens. GE has a new slate finish. Cabinets feature more glass, and laquer. As open design integrates the kitchen with the living areas, and rooms assume multiple functions, the aesthetic of a kitchen that blends with the other rooms becomes desirable. Designers are reducing the use of stainless to acheive that by coordinating the kitchen décor with the living areas.
