Hidden Gems of Davie

Davie SealThe Town of Davie has a history of being horse country & a very laid-back town with a western theme. But there is more to Davie, in fact it is also the nexus of higher education, with many universities & higher educations institutions, such as Nova Southeastern University. The Miami Dolphins Training Camp is also in Davie.

In the past couple of years, Developers such as Regency & G. L. Homes have entered the area & built luxurious gated communities, such as Long Lake Ranches, Long Lake Estates, Blackhawk Reserve & Blackhawk Ranches. The Hagey Team has been selling in Davie & the surrounding areas for 30 years. We have sold a variety of properties in Davie from real horse ranches to the upscale estates in the above-referenced luxury communities.

Camelot ViewHowever selling in the hidden gems of Davie, is was truly gets me excited. There are areas in Davie where no two homes look-alike & each property provides such charm & serenity. Two of my favorite hidden gems are Laurel Oaks & Camelot. These areas rarely have any of their older homes for sale, even in a slow market; but when there is a property listed it is truly a treasure.

Camelot AerialCamelot is located off of Orange Drive, just west of Palm Avenue. The community begins with only a dozen or so homes primarily built in the 1980s & all on builder’s acres of land or more. Each residence is refreshingly unique & many are on small waterfronts. For those of you that prefer custom homes or newer properties, there is a small sub-section of Camelot, called Camelot Estates. There is a lake surrounding this area, with three homes currently being built & room for at least a dozen more. These estates are large & the Developer will build to suit. Currently there is Key West Style Estate 50% Complete & available for sale.

Laurel OaksLaurel Oaks is located off of Orange Drive, just east of Flamingo Road. There also also two sections in Laurel Oaks. The majority of the homes are also on small waterfronts. The back section of Laurel Oaks is called The Ridge at Laurel Oak. Again these homes are refreshingly unique and built between 1980 to 2007.

The residences in both communities range from $600,000 to under a million for the older properties to $1.3 million to over $2.5 million for the new larger custom properties.

If you are considering Broward County, you owe it yourself to visit these Hidden Gems.
