Help the Environment – Time to Change the Oil?

Do you find yourself driving clients all over town and you notice you just drove over 3,000 in 60 days.  Time to change the oil again right, no so fast.   Did you know that oil changes for your auto at 3,000 miles are not needed.

Most manufactures now recommended oil changes at only five or ten thousand miles.  With better oils and outstanding engines means longer spans between oil changes without engine harm.  Not only does changing oil less often reduce resource use, it also prevents potential pollution.  According to www.greencar.com motor oil is only about 50% recyclable, insoluble, contains metals and other toxic chemicals, and is often disposed of improperly.  Could you believe that experts say that one gallon of used oil can pollute one million gallons of water.

Oil around the world.

Don’t take my word for it but check your car’s manual for specific oil change frequency and you might be surprised that it’s not every 3,000 miles like some has led us to believe.  Save the environment and your wallet.
