I smiled when I heard this news! My assistant’s childhood friend’s home was featured in the high-end furniture catalog Frontgate, and ever since she has always flipped through the pages of luxury décor to see the new styles and trends. I am so excited to see that the pages of the catalog will now come to life right here in South Miami! But, first, here’s a little history about Frontgate. It used to just be the catalog, mailed to 300,000 homes in 1991. Now, it has expanded from its home base in Ohio to retail stores across the country. You can still get the catalog in the mail (I do). It goes out to 83 million homes today!
Today, November 20th, Frontgate is opening its fifth outlet store at the Shops at Sunset Place. The store, on the ground floor of the “pedestrian-friendly” outdoor mall, will be 23,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor living products. It’s the first luxury tenant in the mall since it was purchased in October. AMC Theatres, Barnes & Noble, and LA Fitness are the other anchors on Sunset Drive. Fingers crossed that Frontgate brings other high-end retailers and changes to the mall. I really am looking forward to meandering through the store and getting inspiration, too.
