Since my blog about the ground-breaking for Flagler Grove Park I’ve written about Coral Pine Park and Veterans Wayside Park in Pinecrest. Todays’ subject, Suniland Park, is the third park that was deeded to the Village from Miami-Dade County. Originally developed in the 1960’s, this very active ten acre park is located at 12855 South Dixie Highway.
This is a very special treasure containing multipurpose athletic fields (primarily baseball and football), basketball courts, great lighting, batting cages, a recreation center and gazebo, a tot lot and a jogging/walking path. Village of Pinecrest spent $1.6 million during 2002-2003 to completely redeveloped the park, including the beautiful new building and gazebo with its picnic tables and now even a WI-FI spot .
There are numerous activities going on constantly. They even have Roller Hockey. If you want your children involved in athletics such as Khoury League baseball or Pop Warner football this fabulous park is certainly one you should use.

Tomorrow we will visit Evelyn Greer Park.
