MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (January 28, 2008) –Esslinger-Wooten-Maxwell (EWM) Realtors, one of the largest residential real estate firms in the U.S., announced today that five new sales associates have joined its Miami Beach branch office; Michele Chapel, Jean-Marie Losson, Mark Mattsson, Shayne O’Connor and Julia Zapata.

Chapel is an upstate New York native and has lived in South Florida for 14 years. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in interior design from the Ringling School of Art and Design, as well as an Associate of Science degree in electrical technology from Broome Community College, New York. Prior to joining EWM and following a 15 year career with IBM, Chapel owned Chapel Design where she provided services as an interior design consultant. In her spare time she enjoys tennis, scuba-diving, boating, dancing and reading. She is a member of the Realtor® Association of Greater Miami and the Beaches.

Losson, originally from Namur, Belgium, came to the United Sates in 1988 and relocated to Florida two years ago. He is fluent in French, German and Dutch. He, along with his wife Jane, are principals in New Mediterranean Design LLC in Miami Beach. Losson is a member of the Realtor® Association of Greater Miami and the Beaches.

Mattsson is from New York City and has been in the South Florida area for six months. He attended Western Connecticut State University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing. Mattsson is a member of the Realtor® Association of Greater Miami and the Beaches.

O’Connor hails from Burlington, Vermont and has lived in South Florida since 1991. She attended Cooper Academy in West Palm Beach earning an Associates degree in stenography. Prior to joining EWM, O’Connor worked as a Court Reporter for Veritxet Florida Reporting Company in Miami and additionally was a business partner at Universal Communications, Inc. in Miami Beach. In her spare time, she volunteers with Hands on Miami. She is a member of the Realtor® Association of Greater Miami and the Beaches.

Zapata was born and raised in Medellin, Colombia and has lived in South Florida for two years. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental engineering at the University of Antioquia in Colombia. In her spare time she enjoys culinary arts, reading and dancing. Zapata is a member of the Realtor® Association of Greater Miami and the Beaches.
