Wynwood Art Walk
The Wynwood Art Walk has such good energy. Last Saturday evening the streets were filled with people taking in the art on the walls and in the galleries. The graffiti artists have created a stunning display in the tradition of the great muralists. It is so exciting to see this become part of Miami. There was music and dance. People drawn to the live music were watching a few people dancing. Then dancers from The Miami City Ballet emerged from the crowd with their first flash mob performance, a Random Act of Culture. The excerpt was from Paul Taylor’s Piazzola Caldera, which is on the opening program of the Miami City Ballet. The new artistic director, Lourdes Lopez and the dancers are bringing dance to the people. Brillant!
