\nIn 1927, one of Coral Gables pioneering citizens and a contemporary of Solomon Merrick, John Douglas built this lovely home for his wife Rosell. An excellent example of Mediterranean Revival Style Architecture, designed by H. George Fink, a cousin of George Merrick. Fink was one of Coral Gables\u2019 earliest and most prolific architects. Responsible for designing many of the coral rock homes along Coral Way, he received an honorary citation from King Alfonso XIII for his Spanish work in America.
\nThe Douglas-Trager home is noteworthy for its craftsmanship and detailing embodied in such features as its arcaded porch, twisted columns, turned and incised wood columns and balusters and articulated exposed rafters.
