\u00a0early 2014\u00a0about flood rates increasing due to changes approved in the federal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fema.gov\/media-library\/resources-documents\/collections\/341\">2012 Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act<\/a>?\u00a0 Well, once it was amended with the \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.realtor.org\/topics\/national-flood-insurance-program-nfip\/legislative-analysis\">Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act<\/a>,\u201d people in\u00a0coastal zones and flood prone areas\u00a0seem to have forgotten about how flood insurance can affect their homes and businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Miami-Dade county has more subsidized flood policies than any other county in Florida, other than Pinellas County.\u00a0 If you own property in Miami-Dade county that isn&#8217;t in zone X, B, or C, and have a mortgage, contact your insurance provider to see what you can do to reduce your flood premium.\u00a0 Notices will start going out the first week in April.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div style=\"font: 10pt\/normal sans-serif;
