Coconut Grove is the oldest established city in all of South Florida. \u201cThe Grove\u201d, as referred to by many, is divided into four sections \u2013 North Grove, East Grove, South Grove and West Grove.<\/p>\n

West Grove or \u201cVillage West\u201d was settled by Bahamian immigrants in the late 19th\u00a0century. It thrived in the early 20th\u00a0century with single family homes and booming businesses.<\/p>\n

Today, West Grove struggles with high levels of poverty and crime. There are several initiatives being taken to improve the quality of life in West Grove and make it a safer place to live.<\/p>\n
