If you are interested in improving your state of mind and your own well being, I highly recommend a book, The New Earth<\/strong>, by Eckhart T<\/a>olle. \"A<\/a><\/p>\n

It has helped me to stop thinking about what “might” happen and to live in the present moment. I have learned that it is only my “ego” talking to me and that I can turn it off at will.<\/p>\n

So many of us are going through a transformation in our lives and careers right now that our minds can get away from us. We worry about things that haven’t happened and by doing so we are creating a certain energy that attracts us to what we don’t want.<\/p>\n

It takes discipline not to let our minds wander. If you are having a hard time with this exercise try to focus on something in nature for 30 seconds, such as the flowers on your desk or the trees outside the window of your office. If you are not in a place that offers you this environment, create it for yourself. Best of all, when you start to go into panic mode, stop, take two deep breaths. It will rejuvenate your mind.<\/p>\n

If you only have time for a quick read every day, Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life<\/strong>, by Dr. Wayne Dyer,\"Change<\/a> is also a very helpful book. <\/a>This book is based on the teachings of the Tao Te Ching (The Great Way), which was written 500 years before the birth of Jesus, by Lao tzu. It is written in verses of a few pages each, to be read and practiced one at a time. One of my favorite verses states that we should “monitor our inclinations to compare ourselves to others or to stay within the “system”. It teaches us that rather than behave like someone else,we should seek obscurity and draw no attention to ourselves. Measuring ourselves against what others are doing, may not allow us to perform in a way that bring us the greatest joy.<\/p>\n
