I’ve heard about many clients getting contacted by Citizens so they can re-inspect their homes to make sure the windstorm insurance premium credits are being properly assessed. Insurance credits are given on properties that are mitigated with opening protections like; hurricane impact windows, hurricane shutters and newer roofs, for example. Typically, 3rd party inspection companies perform mitigation inspections verifying this type of information for insurance companies. Citizens uses the reports to determine premium credits for the policies. Citizens has found many reports weren\u2019t filled out correctly so they\u2019re cracking down and doing follow-up re-inspections.
