As a nod to American Idol<\/p>\n

\u201cPANTS ON THE GROUND\u201d<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been selling real estate over 25 years and have had many \u201cstories\u201d to tell, but this is a first !<\/p>\n

I was showing a very nice lady and her friend properties in the\u00a0north central\u00a0section of Broward County\u00a0and most of them were vacant.\u00a0 We were at the last house, and then returned to the car to discuss our tour.\u00a0 Just as we were backing on to the street, the buyer says in an alarmed voice, \u201cSomething is biting me.\u201d\u00a0 She proceeds to jump out of the car, brushing on her pants, and then all of a sudden she\u2019s taking off her pants\u2026\u2026in the middle of the road.<\/p>\n

Interestingly her friend and I were not infested by this onslaught of vermin so we\u2019re sitting quietly while she tries to rid herself of whatever is biting her.\u00a0 Finally she gets them off of her, and we seal her pants in a plastic bag.\u00a0 She thinks that they are fleas.\u00a0 I tell her a place where she can get some flea spray as I take her back to her car.\u00a0\u00a0 Of course, the bug attack ended the real estate conversation.\u00a0 I immediately head to the car wash for a vacuum and shampoo.\u00a0\u00a0 Then I spray the car carpet until \u00a0I can\u2019t breathe.<\/p>\n

The next day I awake with bug bites around by waist.\u00a0 I\u2019m wondering if I have the chicken pox or spiders or God forbid, fleas.\u00a0 I strip the bed, go to the store and find some flea spray, and then spray the carpet in my bedroom until my trigger finger is impaired.\u00a0 I ask my friends as to the appearance of fleas.\u00a0 I show them little bugs from my house that I have collected. They tell me their flea stories.\u00a0 \u00a0I am now officially paranoid<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 I itch wondering if I am infested or if it\u2019s just my nerves overreacting.\u00a0 I wear house shoes all the time because I have so much flea powder on the carpet I\u2019m afraid I\u2019ll be poisoned.\u00a0 I sprayed the bedroom so much that I\u2019m now sleeping in the guest room.<\/p>\n

Hopefully they are all gone.\u00a0 That\u2019s if I ever had them in the first place, but the good news is we have an accepted contract, but not on the flea house.<\/p>\n

So buyers and agents beware!\u00a0 Fleas or some kind of bugs will bite you if they\u2019ve been cooped up in a vacate house.\u00a0 So be a good Boy or Girl Scout and be prepared. \u00a0Carry bug spray in your car.<\/p>\n
