Gorgeous Royal Poinciana in Grand Palms<\/p><\/div>\n

My subdivision, Grand Palms in Pembroke Pines, planted Poinciana trees all along the main road. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this blooming tree, the delicate leaves look like a mimosa, but these are no wispy blossoms.\u00a0 They are a riot of hot orange.\u00a0\u00a0 Since the trees are now blooming, the highlight of my day is when I leave and return to my home, driving the path of fire.\u00a0 The glorious bright orange-red drifts across the road forming a canopy dripping in vibrant, passionate hues.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Some of the petals have fallen on the road creating a border.\u00a0 It\u2019s like I\u2019m walking down the aisle, but the real excitement is seen in the contrast with the crystal blue sky, the vibrant green foliage and the brilliant Poincianas.<\/p>\n

All of this makes me think of how grateful I am for living in Florida and its hot, humid days, vivid with unbelievable colors.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I have lived in other places and everywhere has its own beauty, but nothing gets me feeling as\u00a0alive as Florida.\u00a0 I can leave the state, but when I return, smell that humidity, and see the palms waving \u201chello\u201d, then I know I am home.<\/p>\n

As I was driving through my subdivision and washing myself in a Poinciana bath I felt grateful for being in Florida, which started me thinking about other things for which I am grateful.\u00a0 I realized how thankful I was for my wonderful family, friends, health, career, stuff and even the things I take for granted. I listed them all in my mind.\u00a0 I am grateful for everything.\u00a0 I am full of gratitude.<\/p>\n

Do you have a catalyst for your gratitude time?\u00a0 For me it is Poincianas. \u00a0What is your gratitude trigger?\u00a0 If you don\u2019t have one, find one because it sets your day to a lovely tone.\u00a0 You look at things in different perspective.\u00a0 You roll with the punches more effectively.\u00a0 You think sharper because you are less worried. You are happier.\u00a0 You are thankful. \u00a0Look today.\u00a0 It could be your children, your job, your grandkids, your art, music, or simply an aromatic plant in your garden.\u00a0 Once you know what it is, it will create a positive foundation for your day and thus the first day of the rest of your life.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
