{"id":19301,"date":"2009-04-23T17:55:47","date_gmt":"2009-04-23T21:55:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ewmrealestate.com\/blog\/?p=19301"},"modified":"2019-04-23T20:56:19","modified_gmt":"2019-04-23T20:56:19","slug":"open-miami-dades-lottery-for-nsp-may-22-2009-deadline","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ewmrealestate.com\/blog\/open-miami-dades-lottery-for-nsp-may-22-2009-deadline\/","title":{"rendered":"Open-Miami-Dade&#039;s Lottery for NSP-May 22, 2009 Deadline"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Who or What is NSP?\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 HUD&#8217;s new\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hud.gov\/news\/release.cfm?content=pr08-148.cfm\"><em>Neighborhood Stablization Program<\/em> <\/a>(NSP) will provide targeted emergency assistance to state and local governments to acquire and redevelop foreclosed properties that might otherwise become sources of abandonment and blight within their communities.\u00a0U.S. Housing and Urban Development\u00a0\u00a0has allocated\u00a0<strong>$3.92<\/strong> billion\u00a0in effort to respond to the effects of\u00a0 high foreclosures.\u00a0 The money has been allocated to all states and especially those areas that have been hit hard by foreclosures.\u00a0 <strong>Miami-Dade County received $<em>62,207,200.00<\/em> <\/strong>which can be used for\u00a0grants to acquire land and property; to demolish or rehabilitate abandoned properties; and\/or to offer downpayment and closing cost assistance to low- to moderate-income homebuyers (household incomes not exceed 120% of area median income).<\/p>\n<p>Miami-Dade County has opened the lottery for<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hud.gov\/news\/release.cfm?content=pr08-148.cfm\"> <em>HUD&#8217;s Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP)<\/em> <\/a>with a <strong>deadline of May 22, 2009 to apply<\/strong>.\u00a0 Eligible homebuyers can receive $50,000 &#8211; $70,000 as a second mortgage with 0-6% interest to purchase a foreclosure (up to $205,000) in a targeted priority area.\u00a0Income limits do apply and\u00a0are listed on the application.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.miamidade.gov\/ced\/library\/Public_ads_notices\/FY2008\/NSP_Maps_Enhanced_and_Detailed.pdf\"><em>Click here for Targeted Priority Areas. <\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To apply please <a href=\"http:\/\/www.miamidade.gov\/ced\/library\/Public_ads_notices\/NSP\/NSP_Miami_Dade_SF_Homeownership_Application_English.pdf\"><em>click here<\/em> <\/a>for an application in English.\u00a0\u00a0Para una applicacion en espa\u00f1ol <a href=\"http:\/\/www.miamidade.gov\/ced\/library\/Public_ads_notices\/NSP\/NSP_Miami_Dade_SF_Homeownership_Application_Spanish.pdf\"><em>oprima aqui<\/em><\/a><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN\"><strong>The Primary mortgage must\u00a0be with\u00a0an approved lender<\/strong>. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.miamidade.gov\/ced\/library\/Public_ads_notices\/NSP\/Current_BankLenders.pdf\"><em>Click here for a list of Approved Lenders.<\/em><\/a> <\/span>Applicants <strong>do not have to be first-time homebuyers<\/strong> however, they will have to attend an 8-hour homebuyer certificate course.
