There are approximately 12,160 acres of vacant land in the western section of Miramar, which makes up approximately two-thirds of the City\u2019s total land area. The availability of large tracts of land, with access to major transportation networks \u2013 1-75, the Sawgrass Expressway, the Florida Turnpike and 1-95 \u2013 and nearby labor markets, offers and excellent opportunity for residential, office park, industrial, and commercial development. The major airports and seaports, colleges, shopping and cultural centers, and beaches are all located within a short driving distance of Miramar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">Miramaris \u00a0in a unique position relative to attracting development. In addition to its physical characteristics, Miramar is a magnet for quality urban development because the City has five Developments of Regional Impact (D.R.I.), which have already met the concurrency requirement of Florida\u2019s Growth Management Act.
