{"id":14120,"date":"2008-12-24T18:43:56","date_gmt":"2008-12-24T22:43:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ewmrealestate.com\/blog\/?p=14120"},"modified":"2019-04-23T20:56:50","modified_gmt":"2019-04-23T20:56:50","slug":"florida-legislature-2009","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ewmrealestate.com\/blog\/florida-legislature-2009\/","title":{"rendered":"Florida Legislature 2009"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2009 Florida Legislature&#8217;s No. 1\u00a0 concern can be boiled down to one word-money.\u00a0 The Legislature&#8217;s only mandated task is to create a budget, a chore that could prove painful and drawn out as limited incoming tax dollars must be massaged and stretched to fund existing state programs.\u00a0 Some initiatives will take a hit.<\/p>\n<p>Money will also impact other discussions.\u00a0 If a\u00a0new proposal would be funded by tax money, that bill starts with one strike against it. \u00a0The same is true for a bill that would lower taxes. Even if justified, lawmakers will be hard-pressed to make the cut in 2008<\/p>\n<p>With that challenge in mind, the Florida Association of Realtors will continue to advocate for commercial interests.
