Wilton Manors was incorporated in 1947.\u00a0 It is located between Fort Lauderdale <\/span><\/a>and Oakland Park in Broward<\/span><\/a> County Florida. To the north is the city of Oakland Park and the north fork of the Middle River. The South boundaries with the south fork of the Middle River and Fort Lauderdale.\u00a0 East to U.S.1, a\/k\/a\u00a0\u00a0Federal Highway and west to I-95.\u00a0Comprising of a total of 1.97 sq-miles.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The heart, or epicenter, as referred to by locals, of Wilton Manors <\/span><\/a>is Wilton Drive<\/span><\/a>. On the \u201cDrive\u201d you can find an arrays of restaurants, bars, shops, galleries, cafes, clothing stores; you name it – its there!\u00a0Wilton Manors is\u00a0just 6 miles north of (FLL<\/span><\/a>), Fort Lauderdale\/Hollywood Intl. Airport, 2 miles from the Beach, 1mile from the Galleria <\/span><\/a>Mall\u00a0and\u00a0only 3 miles from Las Olas Boulevard. Wilton Manors is close to just about everything.\u00a0 The 2006 census estimates a\u00a0population is 12,879. There are 5,876 total households in Wilton Manors, with 2,476 residing families. The median income is $48,447 and the median age is 43.<\/p>\n

Now to\u00a0the good\u00a0stuff.\u00a0 A couple of my favorite eateries are located\u00a0on Wilton Drive\u00a0(or epicenter) of Wilton Manors.\u00a0 First, there\u2019s Humpys Pizza<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0 No need to go to the Big Apple, these New Yorkers opened shop right in our back yard. Humpy\u2019s may very well serve one of the best pizzas south of Brooklyn; they deliver too. Join their emailing list and you\u2019ll receive coupons & last minute specials. Then\u00a0there\u2019s Thai food. 3 restaurants right on Wilton Drive<\/span><\/a>. My favorite is Galanga<\/span><\/a>. It\u00a0is an upscale, ultra-chic restaurant situated on the north end of the \u201cdrive\u201d. Very intimate, classy and a place you want to take someone you\u2019d like to impress. Also on the Drive there\u2019s Tasty Thai & Siam Cuisine.\u00a0 Laid back – no frills; come in sandals and enjoy delicious comfort food.\u00a0 Tasty Thai is located in the \u201cShoppes of Wilton Manors\u201d. Here at the \u201cShoppes\u201d you\u2019ll also\u00a0find Georgie\u2019s Alibi Bar, Boom Nightclub, Bottoms and Tops and a few other great venues.\u00a0 Georgie\u2019s offers 2 for 1 drinks during happy hour, as well a nightly drink specials.\u00a0 They also have good \u201cbar-food\u201d; burgers, wraps, appetizers, wings and salads.\u00a0 Boom is a nightclub, which is busiest during Friday and Saturday nights, as well as $3 Ice Tea Thursday.\u00a0 There\u2019s a big dance floor too.\u00a0 Bottom and Tops was voted \u201cClothing Clothing Store\u201d by New Times.\u00a0 They truly have a great selection of Jeans, Shirts, Shoes, Shorts and accessories.\u00a0 On the \u201cDrive\u201d you will also find a Thrift Shop, a Pet Store<\/span><\/a>, a Wine Bar, more Clothing Boutiques, Sidelines Bar, Bill\u2019s Filling Station, as well as several Home Furnishing \/ Decor Stores. Like I said before: you name it – its there!<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why Wilton Manors<\/span><\/a>, the Island City, is a City within a City (or two). Quaint-\u00a0though Exciting. Small- but has it all.
