As a historic neighborhood I<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hortonrealestategroup.com\" title=\"The Colee Hammock Specialist\"> <\/a>think it would be interesting to point out market stats based on the age of the home. The following information will be based on the <strong>year the home was built.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Average price per square foot 1900 &#8211; 1940 : $525<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Average price per square foot 1941- 1970 : $757<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Average price per square foot 1971 &#8211; 2007 : $403<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The following numbers will show the market price per square foot a <strong>year ago<\/strong> based on the age the home was built.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Average price per square foot 1900 &#8211; 1940 : $436<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Average price per square foot 1941-1970 : $850<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Average price per square foot 1971 &#8211; 2007 : $662<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I am sure this can be interpreted in many ways. The numbers point to the fact that as I thought <strong>historic homes<\/strong> in <strong>good locations<\/strong> tend to weather the storms of down markets. As you can see based on the numbers the only category that has <strong>not been effected <\/strong>heavily by the market is the category of <strong>historic homes<\/strong>.
