I also live on the island, even though my job is very demanding, living in Key Biscayne is like being on vacation every day. It is self-governed and the crime rate is zero. I remember back when I had just moved to the Key from South America, on the front page of the local newspaper there was an article about a mother duck and her ducklings crossing the street and delaying traffic. For me, coming from streets where fear and violence was a daily occurrence, it was like a dream to live in such a peaceful and coastal county.<\/p>\n

Key Biscayne is also considered a world-class resort community and premier vacation destination. It is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Cape Florida is consistently ranked among the top 10 best beaches in America. The island is seven miles long and two miles wide. This tropical island is surrounded by a pristine white sand beach and offers a variety of boutique and convenience shopping and an abundance of restaurants and coffee shops that cater to all tastes, from casual to sophisticated. It is considered one of the most exclusive areas to live in and has one of the highest incomes per capita in the U.S.<\/p>\n

Key Biscayne is an active person\u2019s paradise. It claims Crandon Park\u2019s picnic-inviting beach, 18-hole championship golf course and tennis center, where the Sony Ericsson Open occurs in March; Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park\u2019s stunning beach, bike trails and picturesque lighthouse, and the Key Biscayne Yacht Club, where members sail and socialize.<\/p>\n
