As I sit at my desk on the 22nd floor of the BLUE CONDO at NE 36th Street and Biscayne Boulevard, overlooking Biscayne Bay, I realize how lucky I was to have found such a wonderful place to ponder life’s little funnies.
Literally, my first impressions as I drove on I-195 by this iconic looking building for the first time, on April 26, 2007 (the day Quincy, my chocolate labrador, and I moved to Miami) was “I’d never buy a place there!” Well, Quincy looked at me through my reflection of the rear view mirror, and he didn’t even flinch. Maybe he knew something I didn’t.
I made my way to “the Beach” and never looked back or thought about “that building again.” Ironically, after an exhausting search of the perfect fit for me and Quincy, on May 24, 2007, I had my closing on a unit in that very same building. It’s been love ever since.
Quincy adjusted quickly as he has a dogpark right next door, and I have wonderful friends that I met because of that park. Five years ago, I wouldn’t have considered moving to this area. But, I’ll tell ya, this is one wonderfully convenient place to live.
I have everything Miami has to offer in just a couple of minutes. It doesn’t matter which direction I pick, there is something right there: Miami Beach’s sandy beaches, nightlife, restaurants, downtown, the Design District, Miami International Airport, Lincoln Road, and many more things to keep oneself busy.
So, never say never and go about your life with a smile. This market is a wonderful time for people to get a start on the place that a few years ago they couldn’t afford. If we didn’t have this market, I wouldn’t be here right now writing this post. I’m liking it and thankful for it.
