THE LAST MAN ON EARTH IS NOT ALONE . . .
Richard Matheson’s short story, I Am Legend, comes the big screen TONIGHT! The 1954 story that inspired Stephen King’s 1978 blockbuster novel The Stand (superior in every way to the re-released Complete and Uncut version King released in 1990). This is where “Captain Trips” came from. The “I Am Legend” movie takes Matheson’s basic short story premise and gives it the Hollywood treatment and then some; with Will Smith giving it his all–it’s sure to please fans of “Independence Day”. The story has a “Twilight Zone” feel and a terrible (as in not positive or hopeful) ending, so I am hoping something ‘legendary’ takes its place . . . Reviews say the effects are dazzling.
A LEGENDARY VOICE YOU MIGHT BE MISSING . . .
The gorgeously gravelly voice of Alejandro Sanz returns to the stage on Saturday after a 2-month break. American Airlines arena will host the show at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $57-$97 and well worth the price. Accompanied by an orchestral group of back-up musicians, even those who have never heard Sanz sing before will love with his voice. He’s sure to perform his wildly popular “Corazon Partido”. Go fall in love! His songs are in Spanish, and if you don’t speak Spanish, it matters not. Like with the Opera, emotion is universal.
