For the past couple of years with South Florida’s lack of inventory, sellers were able to demand their price and terms, a true seller’s market. For the first time in recent years, we have seen a pushback from buyers. With a growth of about 30% in the past two years, we were growing at a very fast rate. I have felt a leveling out over the past few months, which is probably the healthy response to this fast-paced market. As our market adjusts, we must too. Where a seller was able to simply reject offers before, I would suggest that it is important to give more attention to each offer and see if it is possible to negotiate terms that are acceptable. Miami’s market is still strong with plenty of buyers, just look at each offer with a little more attention. Feel free to call me, Ashley Cusack, at 305.798.8685 with your real estate questions.
