Richard Florida, author of The Rise of the Creative Class, was quoted in the Miami Herald: “Miami has become a singular kind of destination. The investments this community has made in the arts really paid off.” Richard Florida’s 3 T’s of prosperity are Tolerance, Technological prowess, and Talent. Cities that score highest on all three enjoyed the highest growth. For Miami, I would add 2 more T’s: Tropics and Transformation. From Lincoln Road in the 80’s rising from the ashes to become what it is today, to the Design District and Wynwood, Miami’s diverse creative class has vitalized our city. Add the 3 T’s to the allure of the tropics and the international appeal and you have the Miami of today, a city of transformation. Miami is more than a destination. It is an amazing place to live.
