The City of Miami is looking to revamp its Coconut Grove waterfront by city hall, ending long-standing(1976) relationships with Grove Key Marina, Scotty’s Landing and Chart House restaurant, which combined paid the city last year just over $600,000 rent. The city recently issued two requests for proposals for the city-owned properties, one for 3385 Pan American Drive for use as a marina/boatyard and an outdoor restaurant, which currently houses the marina and Scotty’s Landing, and another for 51 Charthouse Drive, where the Chart House restaurant sits.
Winning proposals on the approximate 5 acre property will have to renovate, lease, and operate the sites. The city is seeking to improve the revenue capacity of the marina/boat yard facility and calls for a tenant that will transform the property into a state-of-the-art complex. The deadline for proposals are due by June 15th. The maximum initial term lease is 40 years, with two options to renew for five years.
