Fairchild Tropical Gardens , known as one of the best botanic gardens IN THE WORLD, is 83 acres of well planned natural beauty, encouraging tranquility & relaxation. The gardens were established by Robert H. Montgomery, a business man and plant lover, along with a group of passionate plant collectors & horticulturists. Mr. Montgomery’s friend David Fairchild (whom he named the gardens after) played a very large role in the creation of these gardens traveling as far as the Philippines and sailing down to the Indonesian Archipelago on his first plant collecting expedition! Opened to the public in 1938, thankfully, these tropical gardens have been beautifully maintained and offer a variety of events including festivals, concerts, plant shows, art exhibits, and even educational programs for adults and children. Open daily, It’s a wonderful place for a peaceful retreat.
