Prohibition Wynwood
Prohibition in Wynwood is styled after the private speak easy clubs that proliferated in the United States from 1920-1933 when liquor sales were banned under the Eighteenth Amendment. President Roosevelt repealed that Amendment, ending Prohibition with the ratification of the Twenty-first Amendment.
The vibe is that of a cozy upscale private club. The sax player and the décor take you back to the period. The 2nd floor accommodates private parties.
The cocktails are inventive, with new twists on old standards. I loved sitting at the bar which encloses the cooking station to watch the chef prepare delicious dishes with precision. It was impressive. The menu has small plates and large plates perfect for sharing.
