Yesterday I was fortunate to be invited to the vernissage of Art Basel. Absolutely magnificent. The finest galeries from all over the world with the finest art on exhibition. High quality for every possible taste. Magnificent illustrations, sculpture in motion and great paintings. Besides Miró, Lichtenstein, Stella, Warhol, Rothko, Matisse and many more, a collection of newcomers to literally excite us with so much talent and beauty. From the opening at the Miami Beach Convention Center to the end of the evening a true parade of collectors, gallery owners and artists with probably more languages spoken than in the U.N. A beuatiful night of great art, beautiful people and complete harmony within an enormous diversity. Miami Beach’s Art Basel is more than a great art fair. It’s a spectacle of art in motion that goes beyond art as we know it. It’s art as a living being. And truly not to be missed.
