“TROPICAL DREAMS” Gallery Walk
with Dr. Paul George

Kick off the Museum’s 2007-2008 season with an exhibit celebrating 12,000 years of South Florida history. Led by Dr. Paul George (locally famous for his ‘walking tours’), you will view artifacts from the Miami Circle; admire gold and emerald treasures from the shipwreck of the Spanish galleon “Atocha”; board a 1920s Coral Gables trolley; watch a video of the Bahamas Goombay Festival (held annually in Coconut Grove–the country’s largest African-American heritage festival); take a plush seat in the Art Deco theater, examine antique depression glass and bakelite; and touch piece of Henry Flagler’s railroad .

“MOON OVER MIAMI” River Boat Tour

Embark on this journey down the river with before sunset and return under the moon’s magical glow for a view of the dramatic nighttime skyline. See the Miami Circle archaeological site, as well as locations of the Brickell mansions, early tourist attractions, WWII boatyards, and Flagler’s Royal Palm Hotel. Glide by the well-lit riverside and glimpse Caribbean freighters and houseboats. Experience the mystery of the River at night.
