The map below is a preview of future land use and development minutes from Orlando in Polk County, FL. It has been created with the latest available information, but is of course subject to change. Click on the map to use the interactive Google Map. It will show you a $500,000,000 project called Posner Commons at the “Four Corners”, as well as the land we currently have for sale and the land next to it.
To maneuver the map, click on EITHER the highlighted sections, the map markers or the list of locations on the left hand side of the screen.
The property we have listed for sale is in green, all others are in blue. If you click on Disney or Kissimmee, it is normal for the map to pan slightly away from the Polk County area. Zoom out to see proximity, zoom in to see details and roads.
I recommend clicking on “Hybrid Map” as it provides a satellite view with road names.
REMEMBER, the map below is just a preview, you need to click on it to use the actual interactive map. On to the Blog content…

Is Polk County the next Central Florida goldmine? You decide.
Forty golf courses, five hundred freshwater lakes, two thousand square miles of territory, a year round average temperature of 72 degrees Fahrenheit AND minutes from Disney and other worldwide tourist attractions… can land be bought here for just a few thousand dollars per acre?
Walt Disney had a vision WAAAAAY before we even knew where Orlando was… he sifted through all the silt and found gold in Central Florida. In case you missed the National Geographic magazine spread on Central Florida, I am including a link. The title kinda puts a negative spin to the article, but the stats and history are AMAZING! With people flocking away from big city traffic and coastal hurricane risks, Polk County is the perfect middle ground between big city entertainment and a laid back small town environment.
See for yourself, this is just one example of the possibility that still lies dormant in present day (Aug. 2007) Polk County, FL.

According to Polk County: Good Work, Great Life (A Polk County publication http://www.polk-county.net/) “Over the past decade, personal income growth in Polk County has outpaced inflation.”
In March of 2006, the Turnpike Enterprise went public with plans for two more highway systems, the Heartland Coast to Coast running from the East Coast (Ft. Pierce area) to the West Coast (Palmetto area) and the Heartland Parkway running from SE of Cape Coral to Polk County and branching off to just SE of Plant City, FL. Both have been proposed and are in the feasibility study period.
Posner Commons is the blue shaded area just to the left of the land we have for sale and it is going to really put Polk County on the map. As if it isn’t already, with GE running a marketing campaign that features their work in the Polk County area!

Besides being a rare architectural gem, Florida Southern College publishes “Polk Progress – economic indicators for Polk County”. Notice how despite a housing slowdown (much less severe than the major cities around it), Polk County has maintained a healthy economy and steady growth – click here to read more.
