This Saturday one of the biggest rivalries in college football takes place at the Swamp in
Gainesville. The University of Florida Gators will take on the Florida State Seminoles for the 52nd time since 1958. Of the 52 games, the Gators have defeated the Seminoles 33 times. Currently the Gators are number 12 in the NCAA College rankings, and are 8-3 in the season. The Seminoles remain unranked and are 7-4.
Thousands of people including students, alumni and football fanatics will travel to the University of
Florida for the game. The stadium, nicknamed the Swamp, holds over 90,000 fans making it the 10th largest college stadium in the country. The football team has played on Florida Field since 1930. Since then, the Gators have proudly won 7 SEC Championships and 2 National Championships, the latest win in 2006. The stadium benefits from a great deal of history, and has endless amounts fans to prove it.
Saturday’s game will be exciting to watch like always, but I’m confident the Gators will be victorious! The game is scheduled at 5pm and will air on CBS.
