Its that stinking time of the year again! Time for the Delray Beach Garlic Fest , now in its 10th year, this festival entices garlic lovers from all over south Florida.
This aromatic festival is a delicious event that has an activity for everyone.
Children will love the Garlic University, where the little ones can decorate a terra cotta pot and then plant garlic seedlings to take home and watch grow. There is also the exciting adventure of going to the Children’s Play Area where fun is the main word.
Looking for a gift for that person who is special, well, just don’t you worry. I have the place for you. The Merchandise and Vendor area , this is where you will find what you will not find anywhere else! This is the place to buy THE GIFT!
Food… did I mention the wonderful events that are centered around food? How about four fabulous Garlic Chef Competitions with Chefs from everywhere on the map? This creative action packed garlic filled culinary display of talents puts a whole new twist on garlic as the Chefs must come up with dishes that incorporate you guessed it, Garlic. Sound great, but wait there is more, the First Annual Great Delray Pizza War. This is one event that you do not want to miss! Four Delray Pizzarias will compete to make the Best Pizza.
The pugent garlic aroma will call you into the Gourmet Alley. As you are going to be hungry, not to fret. This area has everything to eat and almost all of it has garlic in it, even the ice cream has garlic!
Adults can sit back and enjoy one of the many wines and beers, both domestic and imports, in the Cranes International Beer and Wine Lover Garden in a Tiki style bar. Or indulge in a special Bloody Mary that you can only get at the Delray Beach Garlic Festival at the Garlic Oasis Bar, how wonderful is that?
As if that is not enough, I have more great news, Main Stage. Live music will be played from Friday night until Sunday night. How great is that? To name a few , Big Head Todd and the Monsters , Los Lonely Boys, Andy Childs, these bands will all be covered in the cost of your admission ticket which is only $12.00 Friday , $12.00 Saturday and FREE on SUNDAY!!! Also parking downtown Delray will be WAVED during all Delray Beach Garlic Festival Hours.
