I live in Coral Gables and am a fan of the circles they have added to our streets over the past few years. They slow down traffic and provide a pretty view adding to the ambiance of Coral Gables. So I am interested in people’s opinions of the new “art” that was put up at the Segovia and Biltmore Way round about. It is a group of big metal flowers. I was interested in the story behind it and learned that it is the first piece of art commissioned by the City Beautiful since the 1920’s. I understand the city paid $1,000,000 for this and what is going up on the next circle over at Segovia and Coral Way. The artist is Alice Aycock.I was driving down Blue Road the other day and saw a gorgeous Poinciana tree in full orange bloom. I couldn’t help but think it certainly didn’t cost as much and God did a pretty good job!
