Traveling around the South Florida tri-county area is about to get a whole lot easier. Brightline, the high speed passenger train will open its stop in Miami this Saturday, May 19. The service will transport passengers from Downtown Miami up to Ft Lauderdale and West Palm Beach with eight departures from Downtown Miami starting at 9:10AM on weekends and starting at 7:10AM on weekdays.
The stop will be located in the heart of Downtown Miami, which will also serve as a connecting point between Brightline and the Metrorail, which offers passengers transportation all the way to Miami International Airport. This location will also serve as a connecting point to the Metromover, which is a local free train that goes through Downtown Miami including the American Airlines Arena and Bayfront Park.
Brightline will be offering discounted fares on its opening weekend to and from Miami. The Smart Service fare will be at $3 from its usual $15 and the Select Service fare will be at $5 from its usual $25. Most scheduled times leaving Miami on opening weekend will have been sold out according to the Brightline official website. Brightline will also introduces all access passes which will allow you unlimited rides to and from any Brightline station.
The Brightline has been long anticipated, with locals and tourists eager to experience the quick and easy transportation from Miami’s Downtown central district to Ft Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. Commuters will find this train ride from one city’s downtown to the next city’s downtown an ideal way of transporting from home to work and back. Tourists will get to experience more of what South Florida has to offer, and locals who want a weekend getaway to neighboring counties can now do so from the comfort of the Brightline.
