When the Aventura Marketing Council held their monthly breakfast meeting at the new Arts & Cultural Center on Tuesday, it turned out to be a spectacular event.
After the Mayor and Commissioners dutifully conducted their business, we were treated to a inspiring talk by guest speaker Kelley Shanley, President & CEO of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, which was followed by a wonderful modern dance performance by “Next Step Dance”.
“The Aventura Arts & Cultural Center is not simply just another amenity to the community, spoke Shanley, but it is a venue that will add inherent educational and cultural value to our children’s lives and development, as well as our own, if we open ourselves up to it.” He then went on to explain that when our children graduate college, they not only ask themselves what field do they want to pursue, but now a days they also question where do they want to live. In seeking an answer, young professionals today are drawn to cities that have rich artistic and cultural communities, explained Shanley.
