I had the good fortune to hear the master, jazz violinist Stephane Grapelli, in Paris. It was one of his last performances. Although he was helped on to the stage, his playing, energy, and joie de vivre, were unforgettable. The tradition continues. On September 29 and September 30 Miami hosts the Second Annual Violin Jazz Festival at the Cubaocho Art and Research Center. Performers include Miami artists, Nicole Yarling and Frederico Britos.
