Growing up in South Florida has the sweetest memories for me. I grew up behind Flamingo Gardens on a track of land once owned by the Wray Family, the Wray Family were the original owners of Flamingo Gardens, Mr. Wray experimented and cross bred all types of citrus fruits that never became grocery fruits, some were ridiculously sweet to the most sour orange you could ever imagine. It was so beautiful and a magical memory of South Florida. We were on the highest point of what is known as the “Ridge” grand oak trees were everywhere with Spanish Moss and Air Plants abound, it was paradise.
Our neighbors were cows! As a child I learned how to ride bareback, taking our horses into the many rock pit’s that were mini lakes and avoiding rattlesnakes and water moccasins along the way, we thought nothing of this! The wildlife was incredible we had acres to roam and explore.
My family loved the area, my Dad developed homes and we really set in roots. That was the mid 1970’s. Back then Dad bought as much land as he could. We still have 40 acres that was not developed. It is now for sale. My fondest wish is that whoever buys the property has similar experiences that I have shared, a love of nature and the appreciation of the beauty of this bit of paradise.
At less than 100,000 an acre and with owner financing this a win win for anyone fortunate to be in a postion to acquire such a beautiful parcel of land.
